On October 17 and 18, 2024, a workshop was held at the Unidade Educativa de Torotoro, as well as in the communities of Julo Chico and Añahuani, all belonging to the municipality of Torotoro. The central theme was the responsible use of social networks and artificial intelligence, and the person in charge of teaching it was Roy B. Pérez Pastor.

The workshop, which brought together dozens of students, focused on two highly relevant and current topics: the benefits and risks of using social networks and the proper use of artificial intelligence. During the event, the students showed a high degree of interest and actively participated in the dynamics proposed by the facilitator.

In the first part, Pérez Pastor spoke about the impact that social networks have on daily life, highlighting both their positive and negative aspects. The students better understood how these platforms can be used to share information, establish connections and learn new skills. However, the risks of inappropriate use were also discussed, such as exposure to inappropriate content, loss of privacy and the danger of cyberbullying. One of the key points was the importance of properly configuring privacy in their profiles and how to identify suspicious or dangerous behavior online.

Regarding artificial intelligence, the workshop offered an overview of how these technologies are already part of daily life and how students can take advantage of them in their learning process. Pérez Pastor highlighted the role of artificial intelligence tools in automating tasks, creating content and searching for information, always emphasizing the need to use these tools in an ethical and responsible manner.

Students from the communities of Torotoro, Julo Chico and Añahuani, aged between 16 and 18, participated actively, asking questions and sharing their personal experiences with social networks. At the end of the workshop, many expressed that they felt more prepared and aware about how to handle social media applications and artificial intelligence tools for their educational benefit, always taking into account the necessary precautions to avoid risks.
