Illustrator Guillermo Franic Shares Art and Creativity with Children in Torotoro

The Petite Bibliothèque de Torotoro hosted two intense days dedicated to art, reading, and creativity with a visit from graphic illustrator Guillermo Franic, who came to share his experience illustrating children's books with students and families from the region.

The activity was held over two days, allowing both students and the general public to participate. In the mornings, the illustrator visited the Mariscal Sucre Educational Unit, where he met with elementary and high school students. During these sessions, Franic presented some of the illustrations he has created for various children's books, explaining to the students how the characters are born, how stories are constructed through images, and the creative process behind each work.

The children participated enthusiastically, asking questions about the illustrator's work and showing great interest in the world of drawing and books. For many of them, it was a special experience to meet a professional who creates illustrations for stories aimed at young children.

In the afternoons, activities continued at the Petite Bibliothèque de Torotoro, where creative workshops were held for elementary school children and some of their parents. There, Franic led a short drawing workshop in which participants could experiment with basic illustration techniques and learn practical tips for developing their creativity.

The community's interest exceeded all expectations. The workshops were fully booked, leading to an additional session to allow more children to participate in this artistic experience. During the event, attendees also had the opportunity to talk with the illustrator about the process of creating children's books, discover some of his published illustrations, and receive autographs.

These activities were organized by the Petite Bibliothèque de Torotoro, an institution that works to promote reading, art, and access to culture in remote communities.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Torotoro District Education Office, as well as to the principal and teachers of the Mariscal Sucre Educational Unit, for providing every assistance in carrying out this activity for the benefit of the students.

Special thanks are also due to Guillermo Franic for his generosity and willingness to share his experience as a children's book illustrator, inspiring many children to discover the world of drawing, imagination, and reading.

The visit left a significant mark on the community, demonstrating that art and books can open new doors to creativity and learning for future generations.
